Come, poseurs...ink!

Yesterday was quite long. MillerTime and I left See Us Use eBay at 2:00 for an inc. concert the city. I volunteered to go in early with him so that I could set up the CD playback system. In general, I can't stand dealing with this kind of stuff. This usually comes off as a bit ironic seeing as how I am the 'music tech guy' to most. Anyhow...

We get there and have some bonding over nerdy theory talk. It is all good. An opera diva arrives with an entourage to check the room out (the Green Room in the War Memorial Bldg.). A pic for you to see (can you spy her Paris Hilton dog?):

Then, the passive-aggressive safety belt arrives. This person annoys me and flusters me to no end. There is all this futzing around with the damn electronics (powered speakers, rack line-level mixer, CD player, two dynamic mics) and I am just boiling inside. When the wifer gets to the city, we go to the California Pizza Kitchen and I am just hot - really ticked and annoyed. Eventually I calm down and the evening goes well. My ensemble couldn't rehearse because there was a very difficult string quartet being rehearsed up to 20min before the concert:

That's ok because I've no worries. The players have done it before and they simply ate it up for breakfast. No one laughed out loud during the Nihonglish movement, though I did get nice comments about it later. Even funnier was that there was a Chen Yi piece earlier on the concert. I really didn't think about that when we programmed the concert but certainly it made my piece funnier with all those cheezy pentatonic pizzes and noises.

Afterwards, we drank:

I was berated by this man for not having written music in 18 months. I wasn't amused. But, I was a mewser!

And I stole a picture with Mars Bassman's turtle:

a programming directive for jv3k:

function questionDrink(manner){
echo "why didn't you come out with us?";
}
questionDrink(qurious);
