Praise the union

Chances are that some of you outside of CA may have heard on the national news about the possibility of CSU faculty going on strike. Well, I am pleased to report that today our union and the CSU administration have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract. This means:
Pay increase (yippie!)
No strike (whew!)
At my part last weekend, one of my guests (a rather ignorant one) mentioned that she thought that if the strike happened it would be unfair to the students. I was quite taken aback by her comments and then proceeded to 'school' her on how unfair it was that we were getting fucked while administrators were getting pay raises hand-over-fist at our (student and faculty) expense.
