I don't like MySpace or Facebook

Web 2.0 is cool sometimes. Yelp, YouTube - both are prime examples of community sites that I enjoy.

I can't stand MySpace and Facebook, however. MySpace used to be manageable until the bulletins module was put on the profile page. Now, I find myself deleting friends who post too many bulletins. I value a true bulletin - a piece of important information that I may benefit from knowing. And Facebook - aack! I am overwhelmed by all the widgets, gadgets, and doohickeys that exist on that site. Writing on walls, giving 'gifts', installing apps...

It's hot tonight and so I am particularly crabby. Damn NorCal with it's air conditioner-less homes!

Two good lessons today. I am making progress with efforts not to reinvent the wheel and make the best use of my time.
