Learning new things

Like Mahler, for instance.

I've recently come into possession the complete symphonies. Seeing as how I've got a lot of listening time lately, I decided now is as good a time as ever to get to know this man's music. What have I learned so far?

• All the orchestral brass excerpts come from his symphonies (this explains how Fridays at see us use eBay is Mahler 5 opening day).
• Thirty-one minutes for a first movement is long. Hella long.
• Silly rabbit! Dotted rhythms aren't just for Baroque French Overtures (which I adore).
