What I did while the world remembered that they never forget
This morning, I woke up and did a mental Cabbage Patch while singing:
"Go Hdez,
is yo' birfday
we gonna party like is yo' birfday"
Here is what I did on this day of never forgetting:
- I put up with being condescended to and didn't quite like it (I like to condescend, not to be condescended towards).
- Got to talk about Steve Reich with some non-in-the-know folks, one of whom didn't give it two seconds and the other which gave it a chance and engaged in good discussion about it.
- Prepped for watching The Biggest Loser by eating birthday cake, ice cream, pizza, and wings. Is that wrong?
- Mentally applied Dog Whisperer techniques on a dog who was SO disrespecting its owner on campus while being walked (psst!).
- Talked with タンク and the Captain today. I also got a call from Jackson Pollock. I haven't heard from him in a while.
- Received wonderfully cute and kitsch eCards from jv3k and a colleague I don't have a nickname for yet.
- Reveled in the glory of my fabbleous birfday present: my new iPhone (kiss it early adopter suckahs!)
Yep. The great thing about a birfday that falls on a day of national never forgetting is that everyone never forgets what it is they are never forgetting. Also, they never forget its your birfday.
Some, however, aren't as not forgetting.
