Retarded word of 2008 (so far)

In light of all the financial problems in the U.S. right now, many are choosing not to travel away from their home states and towns when they have vacation time. I can understand this completely. However, in our marketing-saavy nation where portmanteau is the thing to do now (and believe me, I love a good portmanteau), I've heard the following word for this phenomenon:

Staycation

I now officially declare this word to be the most retarded word of 2008 (so far).
